In the world, it means someone who’s not fake and is always there for you. Now here’s a little twist we will be putting to that phrase whenever we hear it. Whenever you hear, “You’re a real G!” Let's correct that person and say that the only real G(od) is God because He will never be fake to you and he stands true to always be there for you at any time of the day. We can’t be the real G’s because we are human and we will make mistakes and not be there always for others and that’s why only God is the real G(od).

How many of us place God as our number one in life, on a daily basis, at the times when we come face to face with problems? Let me rephrase that, how many of us try?

There is such huge importance behind placing God first above anything and anyone.

We all of course have other things that have our attention and devotion such as school, chores, hobbies, eventually a job, and many more other things that demand our attention or in other words the distractions of life. But here’s the thing about those things, you can’t let them become more important or have them in the place that belongs to God only, or more of a priority than the relationship within you and God.

How many of the things that occupy our time, thoughts, and attention have taken the place where God is supposed to be?

“You might be thinking, well Mimi, my parents tell me that my school is my only priority because if I want to become someone in life then I need to focus 100% on it!”

And that’s partially right because you do need school if you want to eventually have a good-paying job for the lifestyle you desire but without God in it or without placing God first, it becomes more difficult to achieve those goals. We tend to stress out at some point or have a breaking point in life because of school that can become stressful and when you hit that point, who will you turn to? Panic mode or God? God is where we can find peace and rest whenever we feel like we can’t handle something coming at us. (Matthew 11:28-29)

Anything can become a God, especially anything we put an excessive amount of time into. Even feelings can become a God if you allow them to control you. And here is where we need to ask ourselves, Who am I bowing down to? Is it the real G(od)? Or to other distractions or feelings? We are already living in a world full of humanism and that makes people not want to Have God and His truth interfere with their daily lives. The good news is that we don’t have to or settle to that way of living if we put a balance in our lives and let God take control of the wheel.

In Christ, we can enjoy our lives abundantly! (John 10:10)
